As working & Teaching Artists, sometimes we may question the significance of our impact. We may even get discouraged when we feel misunderstood or underappreciated through lack of funding, pay equity or just even respect for the work/art. Not to mention rejection. Personally, because of devoting almost my entire life to the Arts & sharing that with others… I now understand its importance & life-shifting value more than ever!!

I recently found out that I am one of several recipients of this Grant. I share this because in the midst of challenging times, this gives me a sense of light. Every acknowledgement of my work is never taken lightly. To be acknowledged by my state of Arizona is overwhelming, inspiring, encouraging, affirming & worth celebrating openly.

NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE! 💖

“Thank you for your service in the arts, and for all of the ways you contribute vital skills and talents to your community—especially at this most challenging time. We believe your skills are essential in this moment, and that your unique capacities—to uplift, connect, invent, and inspire—will be absolutely vital as we navigate a future recovery.”
