Chezale, aka “Lady Maverick,” is a singer/emcee/songwriter out of Tucson, Arizona, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With distinct, sharply focused writing & a powerful-yet-accessible stage presence, she delivers intelligent messages without ever losing her groove. Her music possesses a sound that encompasses a bit of ’90s Hip-Hop imbued with an R&B flavor and a “New Skool” edge. She’s earned logical comparisons to Lauryn Hill & a young MC Lyte, while still managing to have a strong voice that is all her own.

Chezale’s song “Hip Hop Nation” was hand-picked by the legendary Chuck D of Public Enemy as ‘Spit of the Week – Songs That Mean Something’ in 2014.
Her music has been placed on several web series, including Black&SexyTV. She has opened for artists like Slick Rick, Akil the Emcee of Jurassic 5, The Heiroglyphics Crew & Princess Nokia. Keeping close to her Hip Hop & community roots, Chezale has also played the Tucson Hip Hop Festival in 2016 & 2017. She has also had the honor of playing the legendary House of Blues San Diego stage.
